(SALT LAKE CITY) – The Directors of the George S. and Dolores Doré Eccles Foundation announced today that they have selected Jennifer Napier-Pearce to serve as Foundation Chief of Staff.
“We are thrilled to bring Jennifer on board in this new key position,” said Lisa Eccles, President and COO of the Foundation. “Her extensive experience in media, government, leadership and policy will be a tremendous asset to the Foundation as we continue our work enhancing the quality of life throughout Utah.”
A veteran journalist and strategist, Napier-Pearce most recently served as a senior advisor and director of communications to Utah Governor Spencer Cox, helping to elevate his “Disagree Better” initiative as chair of the National Governors Association. Prior to her work in the Cox administration, she was executive editor of The Salt Lake Tribune, leading the newspaper’s transformation from a for-profit company to a nonprofit organization, the first legacy newspaper in the nation to do so. She has also worked at KUER and KCPW as an award-winning reporter, anchor and news director.
Napier-Pearce earned a bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Utah and a master’s degree in journalism from Stanford University.
“From Utah’s rural communities to its urban centers, the influence and impact of the George S. and Dolores Doré Eccles Foundation is unsurpassed in our state,” Napier-Pearce said. “Every community in Utah has been touched by the generosity of the Foundation and I’m tremendously honored to join the team in its ongoing commitment to the people of Utah.”
