Mission

With every initiative and every grant, the George S. and Dolores Doré Eccles Foundation is deeply committed to the people of Utah, investing in programs that improve lives, strengthen communities, and make a meaningful difference, now and in perpetuity.

George &
Dolores Eccles

George and Dolores (affectionately known as “Lolie”) Eccles were among Utah’s most admired and active civic leaders, and were deeply committed to improving the lives of people throughout the state. Their enduring legacy, built over six decades, reflects their vision, philanthropic spirit, and shared passion for giving. From the beginning, the Foundation was established to focus on five key areas: arts and culture, community, education, health care, and preservation and conservation. The impact of their generosity, now exceeding $1 billion, continues to grow and benefit Utahns in countless ways.
